Printed colors do not match the colors on the screen
The printer and monitor represent color differently. The colors will never match exactly. If the printed colors do not match the colors on the screen, try the following solutions.
Verify that your computer is using the appropriate driver 
In the software application you are using to print, click the File menu. 
Click Print . 
In the Print dialog box, verify that the name of the HP printer you are using is in the Name box. 
If it is not, select the name of the HP printer.
Click OK . 
Try printing.
If the colors still do not match, close the software application that you are using to print and try the next solution.
Adjust printer settings 
Click Start , click Settings, and then click Printers. 
Right-click the icon (picture) of the printer.
Click Properties . 
In the Properties dialog box, click the Details tab. 
Look for the text Print using the following driver . 
Under Print using the following driver , verify that the name of the printer is listed. 
Click the Color or Color Management tab. 
Click Automatic . 
Click the Setup tab. If you do not see a Setup tab, click the Device Options tab. If you do not see a Device Options tab, click the Details tab, and then click the Setup button. 
Locate the text Print Quality . 
For Print Quality, choose Best or Presentation . 
NOTE: Best or Presentation produce the highest print quality for all paper and film types, but your printer may print slower as a result. 

Look for the text Paper Type , Media , or Media Choice . If you do not see any of these options, click the Paper tab. 
Click in the box under Paper Type , Media , or Media Choice . 
In the list that pops up, choose the type of paper or film you are using.
Under Photo Paper printing , choose PhotoREt . 
PhotoREt is available only if you have chosen HP brand paper under Paper Type. If you don't have a PhotoREt option, look for the text ICM . If you see ICM , click in its checkbox to add a checkmark, and click OK . 
If you see a tab called Advanced , look for text Saturation , Brightness , and Color Tone . 
Move the sliders next to Saturation , Brightness , and Color Tone to adjust these settings. If you cannot find these settings, click the Graphics tab and then click the Color button. Choose the options that match the type of document you are printing. 
Click OK . 
Close the Printers window. 
Open the software application that you were using to print.
Try printing.
If the colors on the printout are still incorrect, try the next solution.
Install the most current printer driver 
For the most current HP printer drivers, visit Web site.
After you have installed the new printer driver, try printing.
If the colors on the printout are still incorrect, try the next solution.
Print the demo page to test the cartridge 
Turn on the printer.
Press and hold down the RESUME button until the printer starts printing.
Release the RESUME button.
If the printer prints the test page and the colors don’t look right, try installing another color print cartridge.
Try printing again.
If the colors on the printout are still incorrect, try the next solution.
Free up memory 
On the Desktop, double-click My Computer . 
In the My Computer window, right-click the icon (picture) of the C drive. 
In the menu that pops up, use the left mouse button to click Properties . 
In the Properties dialog box, click the General tab. 
Verify that the free space on drive C: is at least 10 to 20 MB.
NOTE: You might need as much as 400 MB of free disk space to print large photos. 

If the free space on the C: drive is not at least 10 to 20 MB, you will need to create more disk space on the C drive by deleting all unnecessary files on the disk drive until there is enough free disk space. Documents with graphics require more disk space, so delete as many files as you safely can. If you are not sure how to delete files or which files you can delete safely, get help from a computer technician.
