HP Laserjet 1012 with Vista
( problem id 1012-001 )
I just got Windows Vista, but there is no printer setup for a laerjet 1012. The closest I found was a laserjet 1015.
I tried to download the driver from the HP wesite, but it does not give windows Vista as an operating system option.
What should I do.
I am a novice at this so I know I am probably doing something wrong.
Any help would be appreciated.

1. Click the Start icon, and then click Printers.
2. Click Add a printer.
3. Click Add a local printer.
4. Select the Use an existing port check box.
5. In the Use an existing port drop-down list, select LPT1: (Printer Port) and then click Next.
6. Under Manufacturer on the Install the printer driver dialog box, select HP 7. Under Printers, select the LaserJet 1015 for the printer and then click Next.
8. In the Printer name text box, type the printer name and then click Next. The printer driver starts to install.
NOTE: The name of the alternate driver displays as the default name. Change this name to the name of your printer, if desired.
9. Complete the installation. Don't print the test page at this point.
10. In the printer folder, right-click on the name of the printer and then click Properties.
11. Click the Ports tab.
12. Change the port from LPT1 to a port that starts with USB or DOT4.
Try printing a Driver test page to check driver functionality. To do so follow these steps:
1. Click Start, Control Panel and select Printer under Hardware and Sound in the Control Panel Home window.
2. Right the HP LaserJet 1012 printer icon and select Properties.
3. Click on the Print Test Page button.
