HP psc 380 Printers - Using the HP Toolbox to Align or Clean Ink Cartridges in Microsoft(R) Windows XP

The HP Toolbox allows you to align (calibrate) or clean ink cartridges. The correct steps for opening the Toolbox depend on what and how the printer driver was installed. Try each of the following options until you find the one that works on your computer.
Option 1
This method of aligning or cleaning ink cartridges will work for most computers and printers. Follow the instructions below to align (calibrate) or clean the ink cartridges:
NOTE: If the following steps are not the same as those you see on your computer, skip to the next option. Each option does not work on every computer.

1.
Click Start , then Printers and Faxes .
2.
Click the desired printer icon to highlight it.
3.
Click File , then Printing Preferences .
4.
Click the Services tab.
5.
Click Open Toolbox .
6.
Click the desired task.

Option 2
Follow the instructions below to align (calibrate) or clean the ink cartridges:
NOTE: If the steps below do not match what you see on your computer, skip to the next option. Each option does not work on every computer.

1.
Click Start , then Printers and Faxes .
2.
Click the desired printer icon to highlight it.
3.
Click File and Properties .
4.
Click the Services tab.
5.
Click the desired task.

Option 3

1.
Double-click the 380 Printer Assistant icon on the Desktop.
2.
Click the Utilities button or the Tools and Updates button.
3.
Click the Printer Maintenance button.
4.
Click the desired task.

Option 4
Follow the instructions below to align (calibrate) or clean the ink cartridges:

1.
Right-click the Printer icon on the Taskbar.
2.
Click Open Toolbox .
3.
On the Device Services tab, click the desired task.

Option 5

1.
Click Start , Programs , HP psc (your printer) series vX.X , then HP psc (your printer) series vX.X Toolbox .
2.
Click the Device Services tab.
3.
Click the desired task.

1.
Click Start , Programs , Hewlett-Packard , HP psc 380 series , then Printer Assistant .
